Extend your foot and leg towards the dock. When foot makes contact with dock, flex leg muscle to extend leg, pushing boat away from dock, drive away.

Boats steer predominantly from the rear, like a fork lift.

I happened to figure out how to do this on my own, and it felt right up until the back of my shoulder started clicking. I think I overdid it going out 5 times a week so soon, but I'm trying my hardest to figure out how to strengthen myself to a point that the click and associated pain won't happen anymore😢

Excellent instructions. I would just add one more step at the beginning. If you are over the age of 30 and not in terrific shape/flexibility - stretch, stretch and STRETCH some more.

The best technique is to build your muscles. You will find out the hard way that no technique in the world will make you go faster until you have enough arm power to pull yourself forward, so first of all go to the gym or practice 1h paddling for at least 3 days a week. After 6 months you will know what I'm talking about.

First tip is great for shortboards but on rounded thick boards like long or fun, my experience tells me the nose being too low causes excessive drag when the front of the board dives.

Nice job! Question: After you took off the carb, you flushed the old fuel from system. How exactly did you do that? Was it basically putting the fuel hose that typically goes into the carburetor into a container instead? And then looking at the fuel to see what state it's in? Thanks.
